If Furniture Had Dating Profiles

We spend a lot of time around furniture at Restocked CIC. Fixing it, restoring it and giving it a second life. And honestly? Some pieces have more personality than a lot of people on dating apps. So, we thought, “What if furniture had dating profiles?”. You’re welcome!

The Sofa

Age: 8 (but emotionally, older)

Bio: Loyal. Supportive. Always there when you need me. Has held people through break ups, hangovers, and entire Netflix series.

Red flags: Slightly saggy, crumbs everywhere.

Still…A solid long term investment.

The Dining Chair

Age: Unknown

Bio: Strong, dependable, doesn’t ask for much. Happy to support you (literally).

Red flags: One leg is…questionable, I don’t match the others.

Underrated. Deserves more appreciation.

The Bed Frame

Age: 5

Bio: Provide stability. Encourages rest. Low drama.

Red flags: Occasional squeak, Assembly trauma form 2020

Green flag energy to be honest.

The Charity Shop Find

Age: Vintage

Bio: Unique, one of a kind. You won’t find another like me.

Red flags: Slightly mysterious past, needs a bit of TLC

High reward if you’re willing to invest the time.

The “Temporary” Furniture

Age: Don’t ask!

Bio: Just here for now. Not a long term thing.

Red flags: I’ve been temporary for about 3 years. People get emotionally attached to me.

We’ve all been there.

Here’s the thing…

Behind the humour, there’s a real point. Furniture isn’t disposable. Or at least, it shouldn’t be. Across the UK, thousands of usable items are thrown away every year, while many households struggle to afford basic essentials like chairs, sofas and tables.

Why Furniture Reuse Matters

Choosing to reuse, restore or donate furniture:

  • Reduces landfill waste

  • Supports people in need

  • Extends the life of quality materials

  • Creates more sustainable homes

At Restocked CIC, we see first hand how a single piece of furniture can completely change someone’s living situation.

Ready to Swipe Right on Reuse?

Whether you’re:

  • Clearing out your home

  • Looking for affordable furniture

  • Or just trying to be a bit more sustainable

Furniture reuse is a simple way to make a real impact. And who knows? Your old sofa might just be someone else’s perfect match.
